They call me Mark, but only because that's my name. I'm an astrophysicist by education, a computer geek by trade, and a dinosaur by avocation.
I'm interested in everything. Lately I've been on a language kick; I've known a good chunk of German for many years, and fragments of lots of other languages (especially the Romance languages), and now I'm studying Japanese whenever I can scrape a few minutes together. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
In my Copious Free Time, I read the space-related newsgroups and maintain (though not very actively, I confess) a list of the most frequently seen TLAs thereon. No less a personage than Larry Wall contributed a Perl script to scramble these TLAs in an amusing fashion.
Like everybody else on the Web, I have a page of my most-frequently-visited links. I've also got a photo of me with my then-one-day-old son Owen.
